Meeting in Bologna
In September, 2006 our University became the full member
of Magna Charta which joins leading 600 higher educational establishments.
The most prestigious educational organization – the centre of Magna Charta is situated in Italy, Bologna. We became the fourth University, which joined the above mentioned charter. Two years passed when the name of our University was announced in the headquarter of Magna Charta, in Bologna University which has nine centuries history. Since that time Taraz State University began to cooperate with Coordinating Council of the Charter and made its steps toward entering European standards.
After two years the head of our University made a visit to Bologna. Last year on 18-20th of September, the rector of Taraz State University A.S. Akhmetov paid a working visit to Bologna University. The aim of that three days visit was to witness signing the Charter by ten Kazakh educational establishments. The head of our University also participated in congratulation part of the meeting. After congratulations the Minister of Education and Science held meeting with the heads of higher educational Establishments, and discussed several questions.
DEAR FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES!
The twenty first century is a new developed century of education and science. So our life requires higher education institutions to educate a young generation. And TarSU which was founded about half a century ago is to solve some problems which must be solved very soon. They are:
- to develop constantly improving teaching methods, to possess innovative educational technologies, leading experiences and to introduce them to the teaching process;
- to become an innovative university, it means to educate modern specialists, to introduce and commercialize the results of scientific work;
- the teaching stuff should not only teach students but also help them to be knowledgeable. The teaching stuff should become scientific and systematic one.
To round it up the university should be the source of new ideas and discoveries in significant fields of science, technology and culture. That is why the aim of our university is to develop together with our country. Our scientists always called people to learn more and more. The great historian, leader, philosopher of Middle Ages M.KH. Dulaty whose name carries our university said "You should not conquer the world because there will be many tragedies. You would better understand the human soul and you will see how many worlds has it." So, we should not only teach with our mouth but also with our heart.
